Submit #913779: kagisearch smallweb main Cross Site Scriptinginfo

Titlekagisearch smallweb main Cross Site Scripting
DescriptionA reflected Cross-Site Scripting (XSS) vulnerability was discovered in the kagisearch/smallweb web application. The index() route handler at app/sw.py line 1395 captures the raw HTTP query string via request.query_string.decode() and passes it unsanitized to the Jinja2 template context as the qs variable. Four template partials (reactions.html, flag_panel.html, mobile_more.html) then render this variable using the Jinja2 |safe filter in HTML form action attributes, which explicitly disables HTML auto-escaping. An attacker who sends a raw HTTP request with unencoded double-quote characters and a script tag in the query string can break out of the form action attribute and inject arbitrary JavaScript code that executes in the victim's browser within the kagi.com origin.
