| Description | A critical privilege escalation vulnerability exists in Product Inventory Management System by SourceCodester. The registration endpoint /api/users_handler.php accepts a user-controlled role parameter from the client-side POST body without server-side validation. An unauthenticated attacker can register an account with role=admin by intercepting and modifying the registration request, gaining full administrative access to the application including user management, financial reports, and all CRUD operations. |
