| Title | OpenSC >= 0.12.2 up to and including 0.27.1 (latest release, unfixed; fix approved in PR #3812, pending merge) Buffer Overflow (stack, CWE-121) |
|---|
| Description | In src/libopensc/card-setcos.c, setcos_construct_fci_44() copies file->type_attr, sec_attr and prop_attr into a fixed 64-byte stack buffer without length validation. Attributes longer than 64 bytes (e.g. from a malicious smart card or corrupted profile) cause a stack buffer overflow write, confirmed with AddressSanitizer via the fuzz_pkcs15init harness. All versions from 0.12.2 through 0.27.1 (latest release) are affected. The fix has been approved by the OpenSC maintainer and is pending merge (https://github.com/OpenSC/OpenSC/pull/3812).
