| Title | jbardin scp.py 0.16.1 Path Traversal |
|---|
| Description | scp.py (jbardin) up to 0.16.1 is vulnerable to path traversal via server-controlled filenames during SCP receive operations (CWE-22). The _recv_file and _recv_pushd methods join server-provided filenames with only an isabs() check, without blocking dot-dot components. A malicious SCP server can write files to arbitrary locations on the client filesystem. This is an incomplete fix of CVE-2019-6111 — the original fix added isabs() validation but did not normalize directory traversal sequences. CVSS 8.1 High (AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:R/S:U/C:N/I:H/A:H). Researcher: mohammad adnan (cystack.ps redteam). |
