Trong các phiên bản Splunk Enterprise dưới 10.4.3, 10.2.7, 10.0.10 và 9.4.15, một người dùng có vai trò (role) với khả năng edit_user có thể tạo tên người dùng native của Splunk kết thúc bằng dấu chấm. Lỗ hổng này xảy ra do việc xác thực tên người dùng không từ chối dấu chấm ở cuối trước khi tên người dùng được sử dụng cho thư mục người dùng. Điều này có thể khiến các tên người dùng native của Splunk khác nhau chia sẻ dữ liệu cấu hình theo từng người dùng, và các thao tác quản lý người dùng có thể ảnh hưởng đến tài khoản sai hoặc thất bại.
