A specially crafted Java source file can trigger excessive recursive parser calls, resulting in stack exhaustion and termination of the BBEdit process. Successful exploitation causes a denial-of-service condition when the malicious file is opened or processed. The issue is classified as CWE-674 and was fixed in BBEdit 16.0. |
