This flaw stems from insufficient validation or sanitization of user-supplied input before it is processed by the application server and subsequently rendered in the browser context. When an attacker crafts malicious HTTP requests containing embedded JavaScript payloads, these scripts are stored or reflected back to the victim's browser without proper encoding.
