CVE-2026-91432 in Siebel CRM End Userinfo

Summary

by MITRE • 10/21/2026

Vulnerability in the Siebel CRM End User product of Oracle Siebel CRM (component: Open UI). Supported versions that are affected are 17.0-26.9. Easily exploitable vulnerability allows unauthenticated attacker with network access via HTTP to compromise Siebel CRM End User. Successful attacks of this vulnerability can result in unauthorized update, insert or delete access to some of Siebel CRM End User accessible data as well as unauthorized read access to a subset of Siebel CRM End User accessible data. CVSS 3.1 Base Score 6.5 (Confidentiality and Integrity impacts). CVSS Vector: (CVSS:3.1/AV:N/AC:L/PR:N/UI:N/S:U/C:L/I:L/A:N).

Analysis

by VulDB Data Team • 10/21/2026

The identified vulnerability resides within the Open UI component of Oracle Siebel CRM, specifically affecting end-user versions ranging from 17.0 through 26.9. This security flaw is classified as a critical integrity and confidentiality risk due to its potential for unauthenticated exploitation over standard HTTP protocols. The core technical issue stems from insufficient input validation or access control mechanisms within the Open UI layer, which serves as the primary interface between end-users and the underlying Siebel CRM data structures. Because this component handles dynamic content rendering and user interaction requests, a failure in these controls allows malicious actors to manipulate client-side scripts or server-side processing logic without requiring valid credentials. This architectural weakness effectively bypasses traditional authentication barriers, granting attackers direct access to sensitive application functions that should be restricted to authorized personnel only.

From an operational perspective, the exploitability of this vulnerability is significantly heightened by its low complexity and lack of user interaction requirements. An attacker with network access to the Siebel CRM environment can initiate attacks remotely via HTTP without needing social engineering tactics or physical proximity. The successful exploitation leads to unauthorized read, insert, update, and delete operations against accessible data within the application. This means that sensitive customer information, financial records, or proprietary business intelligence stored in the database can be exfiltrated, altered, or destroyed. Such actions directly compromise the confidentiality of private data and undermine the integrity of critical business processes, potentially leading to significant regulatory compliance violations under frameworks such as GDPR or HIPAA if personal health or personally identifiable information is involved.

The impact aligns closely with Common Weakness Enumeration (CWE) categories related to broken access control and insufficient input validation, specifically CWE-862 for missing authorization checks and CWE-79 for cross-site scripting variants that may facilitate data manipulation depending on the specific implementation details of the Open UI rendering engine. In terms of adversary tactics, this vulnerability maps to MITRE ATT&CK techniques involving Initial Access via web applications and subsequent Data Exfiltration or Impact through data destruction. The CVSS 3.1 base score of 6.5 reflects a medium severity rating driven by high availability impact on confidentiality and integrity while maintaining low attack complexity and no requirement for user interaction, which collectively increase the likelihood of successful exploitation in unpatched environments.

Mitigation strategies must prioritize immediate patching to the latest supported version provided by Oracle Siebel CRM, as vendor patches typically address these specific input validation flaws within the Open UI component. In scenarios where immediate patching is not feasible due to operational constraints or testing requirements, network-level controls should be implemented to restrict HTTP access to the vulnerable endpoints exclusively from trusted IP ranges using firewalls or web application firewalls that can detect and block anomalous request patterns associated with this exploit vector. Additionally, enforcing strict Content Security Policy headers and implementing robust server-side validation for all user inputs can provide a defense-in-depth layer against similar injection-based attacks. Regular security assessments and penetration testing focused on the Open UI interface are recommended to identify any residual weaknesses or misconfigurations that could be leveraged by attackers despite these mitigations.
