Es besteht eine CWE-248: Uncaught Exception-Schwachstelle in Modicon M580, Modicon M340, Modicon BMxCRA und 140CRA-Modulen (alle Firmware-Versionen), die bei einem Upgrade des Controllers mit einer Firmware-Paket, das ein ungültiges Webserver-Image enthält, unter Verwendung des FTP-Protokolls zu einem Denial-of-Service-Angriff auf die SPS führen könnte.
