Correction request: this vulnerability has been fixed upstream and released. Please update the entry and the associated CVE record (CVE-2026-10813).

1. Fixed version: LMCache 0.5.5 (https://pypi.org/project/lmcache/0.5.5/, released 2026-09-12).
Fix: https://github.com/LMCache/LMCache/pull/4783 (merged 2026-09-05, commit ce08eea7). It removes hex_hash_to_int16() and replaces each multimodal placeholder position with a distinct 31-bit value derived from the full identifier via SHA-256.
The referenced PR #2932 was closed without being merged, so "The pull request to fix this issue awaits acceptance" is no longer accurate.

2. Affected versions: 0.3.1 up to and including 0.5.4, not "up to 0.4.6".
hex_hash_to_int16() was introduced in 0.3.1 (PR #882, commit f5174701). It is not present in 0.3.0, and it is still present in 0.4.7 through 0.5.4.

3. Countermeasure: upgrade to LMCache 0.5.5 or later. If upgrading is not possible, disable LMCache for multimodal requests.

A matching correction has also been submitted to the GitHub Advisory Database (GHSA-3hh9-752g-5g22).

I'm an LMCache contributor and the author of the fix.
