A vulnerability was found in Unitrends Enterprise Backup up to 9.1.0 (Backup Software) and classified as problematic. This issue affects the function downloadFile of the file api/includes/restore.php. The manipulation of the argument filename with an unknown input leads to a information disclosure vulnerability. An issue was discovered in Unitrends Enterprise Backup before 9.1.1. The function downloadFile in api/includes/restore.php blindly accepts any filename passed to /api/restore/download as valid. This allows an authenticated attacker to read any file in the filesystem that the web server has access to, aka Local File Inclusion (LFI).
The weakness was published 04/20/2017 (Website). The advisory is shared at rhinosecuritylabs.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2017-7282 since 03/27/2017. The attack may be initiated remotely. A simple authentication is needed for exploitation. Technical details are known, but no exploit is available.
