A possibly exploitable crash triggered during layout and manipulation of bidirectional unicode text in concert with CSS animations. This vulnerability affects Thunderbird < 52.1, Firefox ESR < 52.1, and Firefox < 53.

The bug was discovered 04/19/2017. The weakness was released 04/19/2017 by Huzaifa Sidhpurwala with Zero Day Initiative as MFSA 2017-10 as confirmed security advisory (Website). The advisory is shared for download at mozilla.org. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2017-5449 since 01/13/2017. The attack may be launched remotely.
