Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in site/search.php in OSSEC Web UI before 0.9 allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML by leveraging an unanchored regex.
The bug was discovered 08/18/2016. The weakness was released 04/20/2017 by Shoji Baba (Website). The advisory is shared for download at jvn.jp. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2016-4847 since 05/17/2016. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication.
