Details
A vulnerability was found in D-Link DVGN5402SP W1000CN00/W1000CN03/W2000EN00 and classified as problematic. Affected by this issue is some unknown processing. The manipulation of the argument errorpage with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Impacted is confidentiality. CVE summarizes:
Directory traversal vulnerability in DLink DVGN5402SP with firmware W1000CN00, W1000CN03, or W2000EN00 allows remote attackers to read sensitive information via a .. (dot dot) in the errorpage parameter.
The bug was discovered 02/03/2016. The weakness was released 04/24/2017 as EDB-ID 39409 as not defined exploit (Exploit-DB). The advisory is available at exploit-db.com.
