A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in WECON LEVI Studio HMI Editor up to 1.8.0 (SCADA Software). A Stack-Based Buffer Overflow issue was discovered in Wecon Technologies LEVI Studio HMI Editor before 1.8.1. This vulnerability causes a buffer overflow, which could result in denial of service when a malicious project file is run on the system.
The bug was discovered 04/13/2017. The weakness was disclosed 04/27/2017 by iDefense with iDEFENSE Labs (Website). The advisory is available at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2017-6035 since 02/16/2017. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation.
