The protocol-inspection feature on Cisco Adaptive Security Appliances (ASA) devices does not properly implement the idle timeout, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (connection-table exhaustion) via crafted requests that use an inspected protocol, aka Bug ID CSCuh13899.

The weakness was released 08/29/2013 with Cisco as CVE-2013-3463 as confirmed bulletin (Website). The advisory is shared for download at tools.cisco.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2013-3463 since 05/06/2013. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation.
