A vulnerability was found in Cisco Secure Access Control System up to 5.4 (Network Management Software) and classified as problematic. Cisco Secure Access Control System (ACS) does not properly handle requests to read from the TACACS+ socket, which allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (process crash) via malformed TCP packets, aka Bug ID CSCuh12488.
The weakness was released 09/03/2013 with Cisco as CVE-2013-5470 as confirmed bulletin (Website). The advisory is shared at tools.cisco.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2013-5470 since 08/22/2013. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely.
