A vulnerability was found in Apple iOS up to 10.3.1 (Smartphone Operating System). It has been rated as critical. Affected by this issue is an unknown code of the component WebKit Web Inspector. The product performs operations on a memory buffer, but it can read from or write to a memory location that is outside of the intended boundary of the buffer. The bug was discovered 05/10/2017. The weakness was shared 05/15/2017 by Kai Kang (lokihardt) with Google Project Zero as HT207798 as confirmed advisory (Website). The advisory is available at support.apple.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2017-2499 since 12/01/2016. Local access is required to approach this attack. A simple authentication is needed for exploitation. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available.
