An issue was discovered in certain Apple products. Safari before 10.1.1 is affected. The issue involves the "Safari" component. It allows remote attackers to spoof the address bar via a crafted web site.
The bug was discovered 05/15/2017. The weakness was released 05/15/2017 by Richard Zhu (lokihardt) with Tencent as HT207804 as confirmed advisory (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at support.apple.com. This vulnerability is uniquely identified as CVE-2017-2500 since 12/01/2016. It is possible to initiate the attack remotely. Upgrading to version 10.1.1 eliminates this vulnerability. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
