A vulnerability has been found in Apache Archiva up to 1.x/2.2.1 and classified as problematic. This vulnerability affects an unknown part of the component REST Endpoint. The web application does not, or can not, sufficiently verify whether a well-formed, valid, consistent request was intentionally provided by the user who submitted the request. As an impact it is known to affect integrity.
The bug was discovered 05/19/2017. The weakness was shared 05/19/2017 with Apache (Website). The advisory is shared for download at archiva.apache.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2017-5657 since 01/29/2017. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Upgrading to version 2.2.3 eliminates this vulnerability. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
