An issue was discovered in certain Apple products. iOS before 10.3.2 is affected. macOS before 10.12.5 is affected. tvOS before 10.2.1 is affected. watchOS before 3.2.2 is affected. The issue involves the "Foundation" component. It allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary code or cause a denial of service (memory corruption and application crash) via crafted data.

The bug was discovered 05/19/2017. The weakness was presented 05/22/2017 by Ian Beer with Google Project Zero (Website). The advisory is available at support.apple.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2017-2523 since 12/01/2016. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available.
