A vulnerability was found in Image Export Plugin 1.1 on WordPress (WordPress Plugin). It has been rated as critical. Affected by this issue is an unknown part of the file download.php. The manipulation of the argument file with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Absolute path traversal vulnerability in the Image Export plugin 1.1 for WordPress allows remote attackers to read and delete arbitrary files via a full pathname in the file parameter to download.php.
The bug was discovered 07/20/2015. The weakness was released 05/23/2017 (oss-sec). The advisory is shared for download at openwall.com.
