Details
A vulnerability classified as critical was found in Open vSwitch 2.6.1. This vulnerability affects the function extract_l3_ipv6/extract_l4_tcp/extract_l4_udp in the library lib/conntrack.c of the component Firewall. The manipulation as part of a IP Packet leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-119. The product performs operations on a memory buffer, but it can read from or write to a memory location that is outside of the intended boundary of the buffer. As an impact it is known to affect confidentiality, integrity, and availability. CVE summarizes:
In lib/conntrack.c in the firewall implementation in Open vSwitch (OvS) 2.6.1, there is a buffer over-read while parsing malformed TCP, UDP, and IPv6 packets in the functions `extract_l3_ipv6`, `extract_l4_tcp`, and `extract_l4_udp` that can be triggered remotely.
