A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in Pepelink Balance. This issue affects an unknown functionality of the file cgi-bin/MANGA/firmware_process.cgi. The manipulation of the argument upfilepath with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability (Delete). Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Arbitrary file deletion exists on Peplink Balance 305, 380, 580, 710, 1350, and 2500 devices with firmware before fw-b305hw2_380hw6_580hw2_710hw3_1350hw2_2500-7.0.1-build2093. The attack methodology is absolute path traversal in cgi-bin/MANGA/firmware_process.cgi via the upfile.path parameter.
