A vulnerability classified as problematic was found in BigTree CMS up to 4.2.18 (Content Management System). This vulnerability affects an unknown code of the file core\admin\modules\developer\extensions\install\unpack.php. Multiple cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerabilities in BigTree CMS through 4.2.18 allow remote authenticated users to inject arbitrary web script or HTML by uploading a crafted package, triggering mishandling of the (1) title or (2) version or (3) author_name parameter in manifest.json. This issue exists in core\admin\modules\developer\extensions\install\unpack.php and core\admin\modules\developer\packages\install\unpack.php. NOTE: the vendor states "You must implicitly trust any package or extension you install as they all have the ability to write PHP files.
The weakness was published 06/05/2017 (Website). The advisory is shared for download at github.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2017-9441. The attack can be initiated remotely. A single authentication is needed for exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. There are known technical details, but no exploit is available. The MITRE ATT&CK project declares the attack technique as T1059.007.
The real existence of this vulnerability is still doubted at the moment. By approaching the search of inurl:core\admin\modules\developer\extensions\install\unpack.php it is possible to find vulnerable targets with Google Hacking.
