An out-of-bounds read in WebGL with a maliciously crafted "ImageInfo" object during WebGL operations. This vulnerability affects Firefox < 54, Firefox ESR < 52.2, and Thunderbird < 52.2.
The bug was discovered 06/13/2017. The weakness was disclosed 06/13/2017 by Holger Fuhrmannek (Nils) with Microsoft Vulnerability Research as MFSA 2017-15 as confirmed security advisory (Website). The advisory is shared for download at mozilla.org. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2017-7754 since 04/12/2017. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. There are neither technical details nor an exploit publicly available.

Upgrading to version 54.0 eliminates this vulnerability. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
