A vulnerability has been found in Apache Thrift up to 0.9.2 and classified as problematic. This vulnerability affects the function skip of the component Client Libraries. The client libraries in Apache Thrift before 0.9.3 might allow remote authenticated users to cause a denial of service (infinite recursion) via vectors involving the skip function.
The bug was discovered 07/09/2015. The weakness was disclosed 06/16/2017 (Website). The advisory is available at mail-archives.apache.org. This vulnerability was named CVE-2015-3254 since 04/10/2015. The attack can be initiated remotely. A single authentication is required for exploitation. Technical details are known, but there is no available exploit.
