The D-Link DIR-615 device before v20.12PTb04 doesn't use SSL for any of the authenticated pages. Also, it doesn't allow the user to generate his own SSL Certificate. An attacker can simply monitor network traffic to steal a user's credentials and/or credentials of users being added while sniffing the traffic.

The bug was discovered 03/12/2017. The weakness was published 07/07/2017 (Website). The advisory is available at ftp2.dlink.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2017-7406 since 04/03/2017. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. The technical details are unknown and an exploit is not available.
