A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in Pulse Connect Secure 8.3R1. Affected by this issue is the function logout of the file logout.cgi of the component Admin Panel. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a cross-site request forgery vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-352. Pulse Connect Secure 8.3R1 has CSRF in logout.cgi. The logout function of the admin panel is not protected by any CSRF tokens, thus allowing an attacker to logout a user by making them visit a malicious web page.
The bug was discovered 07/12/2017. The weakness was disclosed 07/12/2017 (Website). The advisory is available at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2017-11196 since 07/12/2017. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim.
