Details
A vulnerability was found in authd (affected version not known). It has been classified as problematic. Affected is some unknown functionality of the file /etc/ident.key of the component Permission. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a race condition vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-362. The product contains a code sequence that can run concurrently with other code, and the code sequence requires temporary, exclusive access to a shared resource, but a timing window exists in which the shared resource can be modified by another code sequence that is operating concurrently. This is going to have an impact on confidentiality. CVE summarizes:
authd sets weak permissions for /etc/ident.key, which allows local users to obtain the key by leveraging a race condition between the creation of the key, and the chmod to protect it.
