A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in YARA 3.x. Affected by this issue is the function yr_object_array_set_item of the file object.c of the component .NET File Handler. Heap buffer overflow in the yr_object_array_set_item() function in object.c in YARA 3.x allows a denial-of-service attack by scanning a crafted .NET file.
The bug was discovered 07/05/2017. The weakness was released 07/17/2017 (GitHub Repository). The advisory is available at github.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2017-11328 since 07/13/2017.
