A vulnerability was found in OpenPGP.js (JavaScript Library) (version now known). It has been declared as critical. This vulnerability affects some unknown processing of the file s2k.js of the component Authentication Mechanism. The manipulation as part of a Messages leads to a cryptographic issue vulnerability. s2k.js in OpenPGP.js will decrypt arbitrary messages regardless of passphrase for crafted PGP keys which allows remote attackers to bypass authentication if message decryption is used as an authentication mechanism via a crafted symmetrically encrypted PGP message.
The bug was discovered 10/13/2015. The weakness was presented 07/25/2017 by Gijs Hollestelle (oss-sec). The advisory is shared for download at openwall.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2015-8013 since 10/28/2015. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely.
