Cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability in the login page in the Administrative Web Interface on Dell iDRAC6 monolithic devices with firmware before 1.96 and iDRAC7 devices with firmware before 1.46.45 allows remote attackers to inject arbitrary web script or HTML via the ErrorMsg parameter.

The weakness was shared 09/23/2013 by Tudor Enache with Help AG Middle East as VU#920038 as not defined advisory (Website). The advisory is available at kb.cert.org. The vendor was not involved in the coordination of the public release. This vulnerability was named CVE-2013-3589 since 05/21/2013. The exploitation appears to be easy. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. Technical details and also a public exploit are known. This vulnerability is assigned to T1059.007 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.
