A vulnerability was found in Google Android 5.0/5.1 on Samsung (Smartphone Operating System). It has been declared as critical. This vulnerability affects the function g2d_lock/g2d_unlock of the file /dev/fimg2d of the component Graphics 2D Driver. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a race condition vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-362. Race condition in the ioctl implementation in the Samsung Graphics 2D driver (aka /dev/fimg2d) in Samsung devices with Android L(5.0/5.1) allows local users to trigger memory errors by leveraging definition of g2d_lock and g2d_unlock lock macros as no-ops, aka SVE-2015-4598.
