A vulnerability was found in Dell Storage Manager up to 2016 R2.1 and classified as problematic. This issue affects the function doGet. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a path traversal vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-22. The product uses external input to construct a pathname that is intended to identify a file or directory that is located underneath a restricted parent directory, but the product does not properly neutralize special elements within the pathname that can cause the pathname to resolve to a location that is outside of the restricted directory. Directory Traversal in Dell Storage Manager 2016 R2.1 causes Information Disclosure when the doGet method of the EmWebsiteServlet class doesn't properly validate user provided path before using it in file operations. Was ZDI-CAN-4459.
