Cisco Unity 2.x, 3.x, and 4.x, when integrated with Microsoft Exchange, has several hard coded usernames and passwords, which allows remote attackers to gain unauthorized access and change configuration settings or read outgoing or incoming e-mail messages.

The bug was discovered 01/01/2001. The weakness was disclosed 12/15/2004 with Cisco (Website). The advisory is shared for download at cisco.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2004-1322 since 01/06/2005. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Technical details are unknown but a public exploit is available.
