A Remote Code Execution vulnerability in HPE Intelligent Management Center (iMC) PLAT version PLAT 7.3 (E0504) was found. The problem was resolved in HPE Intelligent Management Center PLAT v7.3 (E0506) or any subsequent version.
The bug was discovered 08/11/2017. The weakness was disclosed 08/11/2017 by Steven Seeley (mr_me) with Zero Day Initiative as HPESBHF03768 as confirmed security bulletin (Website) via ZDI (Zero Day Initiative). It is possible to read the advisory at h20565.www2.hpe.com. The public release has been coordinated in cooperation with HPE. This vulnerability is known as CVE-2017-12540 since 08/05/2017. The attack can be launched remotely. A single authentication is necessary for exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction.
