A vulnerability was found in BlackCat CMS 1.2 (Content Management System). It has been declared as critical. This vulnerability affects an unknown part of the file info.php of the component Backend. The manipulation of the argument new_modulename as part of a Parameter leads to a cross-site request forgery vulnerability. The CWE definition for the vulnerability is CWE-352. BlackCat CMS 1.2 allows remote authenticated users to inject arbitrary PHP code into info.php via a crafted new_modulename parameter to backend/addons/ajax_create.php. NOTE: this can be exploited via CSRF.
The bug was discovered 08/30/2017. The weakness was presented 08/31/2017 (Website). The advisory is available at github.com. This vulnerability was named CVE-2017-14048 since 08/30/2017. The attack can be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is required for a successful exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim.
