A vulnerability was found in OpenCV 3.3 (Image Processing Software). It has been rated as critical. This issue affects the function cv::imread of the file utils.cpp of the component Incomplete Fix. The manipulation as part of a Image File leads to a out-of-bounds write vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-787. OpenCV (Open Source Computer Vision Library) 3.3 has an out-of-bounds write error in the function FillColorRow1 in utils.cpp when reading an image file by using cv::imread. NOTE: this vulnerability exists because of an incomplete fix for CVE-2017-12597.
The bug was discovered 08/23/2017. The weakness was shared 09/04/2017 (Website). The advisory is shared at github.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2017-14136 since 09/04/2017. The attack may be initiated remotely. No form of authentication is needed for a successful exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction.
