A vulnerability was found in Apache Hadoop up to 2.6.4/2.7.2 (Network Management Software) and classified as problematic. The YARN NodeManager in Apache Hadoop 2.6.x before 2.6.5 and 2.7.x before 2.7.3 can leak the password for credential store provider used by the NodeManager to YARN Applications.
The bug was discovered 01/12/2017. The weakness was published 09/05/2017 (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at mail-archives.apache.org. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2016-3086 since 03/10/2016. The exploitation is known to be easy. The attack may be initiated remotely.
