A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, has been found in ldapauth-fork up to 2.3.2 (Directory Service Software). This issue affects some unknown functionality. The manipulation of the argument username with an unknown input leads to a ldap injection vulnerability (LDAP). Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-90. The product constructs all or part of an LDAP query using externally-influenced input from an upstream component, but it does not neutralize or incorrectly neutralizes special elements that could modify the intended LDAP query when it is sent to a downstream component. ldapauth-fork before 2.3.3 allows remote attackers to perform LDAP injection attacks via a crafted username.
The bug was discovered 09/17/2015. The weakness was disclosed 09/06/2017 (oss-sec). The advisory is shared at openwall.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2015-7294 since 09/18/2015.
