A vulnerability, which was classified as critical, was found in Kaltura up to 13.1. This affects the function getUserzoneCookie of the component Signature Handler. The manipulation as part of a Cookie leads to a hard-coded credentials vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-798. The getUserzoneCookie function in Kaltura before 13.2.0 uses a hardcoded cookie secret to validate cookie signatures, which allows remote attackers to bypass an intended protection mechanism and consequently conduct PHP object injection attacks and execute arbitrary PHP code via a crafted userzone cookie.
The bug was discovered 09/12/2017. The weakness was released 09/19/2017 (GitHub Repository). It is possible to read the advisory at github.com.
