Details
A vulnerability was found in YADIFA up to 2.2.5 (Domain Name Software) and classified as problematic. Affected by this issue is an unknown code of the component DNS Packet Parser. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a resource consumption vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-400. The product does not properly control the allocation and maintenance of a limited resource, thereby enabling an actor to influence the amount of resources consumed, eventually leading to the exhaustion of available resources. Impacted is availability. CVE summarizes:
The DNS packet parser in YADIFA before 2.2.6 does not check for the presence of infinite pointer loops, and thus it is possible to force it to enter an infinite loop. This can cause high CPU usage and makes the server unresponsive.
