A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in Xiph.Org libvorbis 1.3.5. Affected by this issue is the function bark_noise_hybridmp of the file psy.c of the component MP4 File Handler. The manipulation with an unknown input leads to a memory corruption vulnerability. The bark_noise_hybridmp function in psy.c in Xiph.Org libvorbis 1.3.5 allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service (out-of-bounds access and application crash) or possibly have unspecified other impact via a crafted mp4 file.
The bug was discovered 09/21/2017. The weakness was published 09/21/2017 with Qihoo 360 GearTeam (Website). The advisory is shared for download at openwall.com.
