A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in Tiki up to 12.11 LTS/15.4 LTS/16.2/17.0. This issue affects some unknown functionality of the file tiki-objectpermissions.php. The manipulation as part of a IMG Element leads to a cross-site request forgery vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-352. Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) vulnerability via IMG element in Tiki before 16.3, 17.x before 17.1, 12 LTS before 12.12 LTS, and 15 LTS before 15.5 LTS allows an authenticated user to edit global permissions if an administrator opens a wiki page with an IMG element, related to tiki-objectpermissions.php. For example, an attacker could assign administrator privileges to every unauthenticated user of the site.
The bug was discovered 09/28/2017. The weakness was released 09/30/2017 (Website). It is possible to read the advisory at openwall.com. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2017-14925 since 09/29/2017. The attack may be initiated remotely. A simple authentication is required for exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Technical details of the vulnerability are known, but there is no available exploit.
