A vulnerability was found in Microsoft SharePoint Enterprise Server 2013 SP1/2016 (Groupware Software). It has been declared as problematic. This vulnerability affects an unknown code block. A cross-site scripting (XSS) vulnerability exists when Microsoft SharePoint Server does not properly sanitize a specially crafted web request to an affected SharePoint server. An authenticated attacker could exploit the vulnerability by sending a specially crafted request to an affected SharePoint server.

Applying the patch KB4011157 is able to eliminate this problem. The bugfix is ready for download at catalog.update.microsoft.com. A possible mitigation has been published immediately after the disclosure of the vulnerability.
