A vulnerability, which was classified as problematic, has been found in Web2py 2.9.11. This issue affects an unknown code of the file gluon/tools.py of the component Logout. The manipulation of the argument _next as part of a Parameter leads to a redirect vulnerability. Using CWE to declare the problem leads to CWE-601. A web application accepts a user-controlled input that specifies a link to an external site, and uses that link in a Redirect. This simplifies phishing attacks. Open redirect vulnerability in gluon/tools.py in Web2py 2.9.11 allows remote attackers to redirect users to arbitrary web sites and conduct phishing attacks via a URL in the _next parameter to user/logout.
