A vulnerability was found in phpMyFAQ up to 2.9.8 (Content Management System). It has been rated as problematic. Affected by this issue is an unknown function of the file admin/stat.main.php. In phpMyFAQ before 2.9.9, there is Cross-Site Request Forgery (CSRF) in admin/stat.main.php.
The bug was discovered 10/01/2017. The weakness was disclosed 10/22/2017 (GitHub Repository). The advisory is shared for download at github.com. This vulnerability is handled as CVE-2017-15734 since 10/21/2017. The attack may be launched remotely. No form of authentication is required for exploitation. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. Technical details as well as a public exploit are known.
The exploit is available at exploit-db.com. It is declared as proof-of-concept. The vulnerability was handled as a non-public zero-day exploit for at least 21 days. Upgrading to version 2.9.9 eliminates this vulnerability.
