A vulnerability classified as problematic has been found in Count Per Day Plugin up to 3.4.0 on WordPress (WordPress Plugin). Affected is some unknown functionality of the file counter-options.php. The manipulation of the argument cpd_keep_month as part of a Parameter leads to a sql injection vulnerability. CWE is classifying the issue as CWE-89. SQL injection vulnerability in counter-options.php in the Count Per Day plugin before 3.4.1 for WordPress allows remote authenticated administrators to execute arbitrary SQL commands via the cpd_keep_month parameter to wp-admin/options-general.php. NOTE: this can be leveraged using CSRF to allow remote attackers to execute arbitrary SQL commands.

The bug was discovered 07/22/2015. The weakness was presented 10/23/2017 as confirmed posting (Bugtraq). The advisory is available at securityfocus.com. This vulnerability is traded as CVE-2015-5533 since 07/16/2015. It is possible to launch the attack remotely. The exploitation doesn't require any form of authentication. Successful exploitation requires user interaction by the victim. Technical details and a public exploit are known. This vulnerability is assigned to T1505 by the MITRE ATT&CK project.

Upgrading to version 3.4.1 eliminates this vulnerability.
