A vulnerability was found in Mahara up to 1.8.6/1.9.4/1.10.2/15.03.x (Content Management System). It has been rated as critical. Mahara 1.8 before 1.8.7 and 1.9 before 1.9.5 and 1.10 before 1.10.3 and 15.04 before 15.04.0 are vulnerable to a maliciously created .swf files that can have its code executed when a user tries to download the file.
The bug was discovered 04/17/2015. The weakness was disclosed 11/03/2017 (Website). The advisory is shared at bugs.launchpad.net. The identification of this vulnerability is CVE-2017-1000132 since 11/02/2017. The attack may be initiated remotely. A simple authentication is required for exploitation. It demands that the victim is doing some kind of user interaction. Neither technical details nor an exploit are publicly available.
